Nelson Bay Pro-Am
After the Nelson Bay Pro-Am I have shot a score of 79 (+7) to finish T26th it was a perfect morning for a game of golf with little wind about early. Through 6 holes the wind started to pick up and gust around to no direction through the tall dense gums.
Starting on the 11th on a course I had not played before I was 3 over through 4 holes doubling the 12th and missing the fairway long at 13. I somewhat steadied the ship for a while there getting back to 3 over after the 18th with a birdie there.
A drive down the short par 4 1st was the best shot of the day and finished through the green chipping the ball to 2.5m to a downhill putt. I had a go at holing it with speed and I had more distance coming back for the birdie missing that too. Thought this was my chance to make a move for a decent day out and attacked at that moment to no prevail.
From there I gave myself chances at 2, 3, 4 and 7 for birdie not making one from close distances. Up and down at 5 for par but bogey came at 6 before a triple eventuated on the long 200m par 3 the 8th where my ball finished in the bunker with one of those feet out of the trap scenarios. Did end with a birdie on my last hole of the day. So just a day to forget and move on to Hawks Nest Pro-Am tomorrow teeing off at 12pm.
By the way this course is now one of my most favorite tracks I have ever played. The new club house since the fire is now open after two years rebuilding which is such a great asset to the club.
