Greater Shepperton Masters Round 1 Numurkah
After the 1st Round of the Greater Shepperton Masters at Numurkah Golf Club I have shot a score of 70 (-2) to be T8th hitting 7 greens and having 23 putts.
The temps peaked at 36 degrees today with light winds. The greens were an amazing surface but super small and pimpled so playing to the front was key all day.
I really had one of those days were I just got it done. With a birdie on my 1st hole the 18th it was not long till I made a double bogey on 2 backing it up with a birdie on the next a par 5 to get back to square. 2 up and down saves in a row before another bird appeared at 6 with a 2 putt.
Missed the next 2 greens in a row making crucial saves before making another 2 putt birdie on a par 5 to go to 2 red. Had a look at 10 for 3 under from 5m straight up the hill that came close. Another save at 11 before another look at 3 red missed again. Wait for it another save at 13 before finally I rolled a green in reg putt in to go to 3 under. Missing the last 3 greens I finished par, bogey and par to complete the round.
Gosh it was a grind. I made some of the best saves in a round including 2 shots that I hit fat and came 30 – 40m short making up and down and a 7iron chip and run from a disgusting lie that was my most proudest moment of all the saves. I really should not of had red but I did cause I cleaned up well around the hole. Round 2 kicks of at Mooroopna at 12.30pm 4 shots back.
