I.K Harrison Elanora Invitational Pro-Am

Yesterday at the I.K Harrison Invitational Pro-Am I shot a score of 72 (Ev) to have placed T2nd.

Over many years this event has not had many low scores as I heard on the day that figure was 4 under. This is mainly due to the wonderful layout of the course and the green keeper’s skill to care for the course. The greens were pristine and running at 13.2 on the stimp metre. The wind was non-existent for the day until the last few holes where the ocean breeze started to kick in. It certainly was a hot day also.

Starting on the par 3 5th I hit the green and made par. From there I missed the next 2 greens and made extreme par saves which really got momentum moving in the right direction for early. The putter continued to be hot making a 4m putt for birdie on the 8th before getting up and down at 9 to be 3/3 up and downs through 5 holes.

I hit 10 and 11 greens and making the birdie putt on 11 from 4m to go to 2 under. Unfortunately the next two holes I gave back those 2 shots to be even missing the greens with good strikes into the greens.

With another 8 holes to go I pared them all coming in and only having hit 4 greens on those 8 holes I was proud with the way I scrambled. There was some close chances for birdie to edge under par again but to no prevail.

Next event is on in Brisbane playing in the BMD Wynnum Pro-Am on the 5th of December teeing off at 6.30am.
