Austbrokers Canberra Gold Creek Pro-Am
At the completion of the 2 day Austbrokers Canberra Gold Creek Pro-Am I have shot a score of 73 (+1) & 70 (-2) for a total of 1 under coming T15th.
The course conditions were incredible and it is a credit to the Gold Creek greens team. Greens were fast and true.
During the 1st round on a perfect weather day I managed to start well being 2 under through 8 holes. From there I was unable to make any birdies finishing the day making 3 bogies with some poor playing.
The 2nd day proved to be tough with high winds and storms forecast for the day. On slick greens any amount of wind was going to make it a battle. The day was the coldest day I have played since the last round of the China Tour School. I was pleased with my performance and ability to ground out a round moving 15 places up the leaderboard.
We were delayed a good 45mins which left the field racing to get done. The rain helped to slow the greens a little but it was still hard to judge with the gail gusts and debris everywhere.
Bogeying the 1st hole of the day I bounced back with a birdie at the 18th. From there I managed to get to 3 under through 14 holes. I hit the next 2 greens in regulation making par from medium range however making a bogey on my 2nd last hole was frustrating. Solid performance for the two days.
Next event is the Murray Bridge PGA Classic, a 3 day event starting on the 19th of April.
