2nd Round Port Macquarie Pro-Am
After the 2nd round of the Port Macquarie Pro-Am I have shot a score of 69 (-2) finishing on a total of 1 over T15th. Teeing off in the afternoon the weather was super hot for early spring and the wind picked up as the afternoon went on.
Teeing off the 15th hole I hit 2 greens in a row making pars before making up and down on 17 for par. Hitting the green at 18 on the lower tier I 3 putted for bogey. Bounced back at the par 5 1st before giving it straight back at the 2nd.
Another bogey appeared on the 4th due to missing the fairway and not making up and down from 40m out. Hitting the next 2 greens in regulation I made a big birdie putt at speed on 6. Momentum keepers on 7 and 8 making up and down for par was critical to the days success before making up and down birdie at 9 from the greenside front right bunker on a par 5 when I had 153m in for my 2nd.
After placing a 2 iron down the fairway on the 10th I half bladed a wedge through the green making another fantastic save. A great 2 putt par on 11 steadied things before a super drive down the par 5 set up a chance to go under par for the 1st time today, which I did making birdie.
2 putt par at the par 3 13 holing a 3m tester after leaving the first putt short but it was the last hole the 14th where I pulled off my plays of the day. Perfect drive down the middle against the wind and hit a nine iron to 4m before binning the putt. Extra bonus.
Came home very strong and would like to give an honorable mention of thanks to Kim Gilbert for looking after me this week and caddying for me today. Kept me laughing and smiling throughout the day.
