Wyong Pro-Am
After the Wyong Pro-Am I have shot a score of 67 (-4) to finish T4th. Driving up to Wyong from Sydney the rain was coming down but was due to clear up and it turned into an awesome afternoon with no wind.
Teeing off the 17th I missed the green short on the par 3 opting to putt making par. Hitting 18, 1, 2 and 3 greens in regulation I did not convert. And birdies. Missing the par 3 green at 4 I made a bogey sliding by a putt from 1.5m.
At the 5th I could have easily lost the day there and then. Driving the ball into the water off the tee straight, not cutting it enough on the par 5 I went for the green for my 3rd which was fraught with danger and let’s just say it got very lucky. Somehow it stayed dry and I pitched a shot into 3m making the par putt. Just wow! I then reeled off 3 birdies in a row before bogeying the 9th hole but bounced back at the par 5 10th. Certainly a game breaking section of the course.
With a normal par at 11 I missed 12 and 13 long of the green making 2 of the best par saves of my career. Such shortsighted areas. Hitting the last 3 greens in regulation I made 2 birdies to finish the round off. The birdies came on the last 2 holes. 12 greens in regulation and 25 putts. Love hitting the 25 putt mark. Teeing off for another pro-am at Waratah Golf Club 12noon.
