After playing in the Lakelands Pro-Am I have shot a score of 68 (-4) to be leading the event with the afternoon field still to finish.

It was a foggy, cold morning to start the day and I was unsure if I even had a start in the event but when I arrived to the course I was handed my card.

A birdie down the 1st kick started the day on some of the quickest greens I have played all year. Maybe arguably the best!

Missing the fairway at the 3rd I had to chip out to 90m hitting the green and 3 putting for a double bogey. Most certainly disappointed with that result but I knew there where plenty of holes to get those shots back. Birdie on the par 5 7th saw me turn even on the front nine.

It was not until 12, 13 and 14 where I had 3 birdies in a row to go to 3 under. I knew from there I had a short par 5 to finish and thought if I could get one more birdie before then I would have posted a great score. Gave myself every chance with the putter but nothing dropped.

After thinking I hit the ball in the right trees on 18 off the tee, I ended up only a foot from the fairway. This left me an 8 iron in where I gave myself a chance to go to 5 under, eagle putt missing it a foot right.

Great round of golf and really proud of my performance out there this morning. We will see if it holds up for the afternoon. None the less a great start to the week of Pro-Ams in Western Australia.
