2nd Stage Farmers Insurance Open

After the final stage of qualifying for the US PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open I have shot a score of 72 (Ev) to miss by 5 placing 30th. 10 greens 27 putts. Perfect conditions wear had till the last 3 holes where the wind started to pick up.

Starting on the 1st I hit the 1st green then missed 3 greens in a row making bogies at 3 and 4 but followed them up with 2 birdies in a row. At the 7th my ball landed 5m away from the pin but ripped off the green to be 30m away and did not make up and down but again bounced back with 2 birdies in a row to have a chance of scoring low on the back nine and posting a good score.

On the 10th I did not make the start I needed on the par 5 making par. Had 6iron in and left it short in the bunker not making up and down. Birdied 11 though to get to 2 red when I sunk a putt from 2.5m. Big chance at 12 to go to 3 under from 5m straight up the hill and missed a cup right at an excellent speed. The next hole is where I felt I was out of the day when I hit a wedge from 100m from the fairway landing where I wanted missing the green left and it bounced off the slope too hard and missed right of the green running at a 90 degree right angle. Dead to the flag. Chipped it to 5m and missed the putt. Could not believe the bounce. But that can be golf for you.

Hitting 14 and 16 in regulation I made one bogey on 15 and made up and down with the rest. No birdies to finish.

To many bogies early on. I did not get through the tough stretch (3 and 4) at the score I wanted but in the end I was happy with the way I competed today. I am so thankful to have had another shot at a PGA Tour Event and just hope it is not 2 years before I am able to have another shot at my dream tour. Thanks again TC supporters for all the support. You guys rock! Next event is the New Zealand PGA Championships which starts on 22nd of February.
