2nd Round Chongqing – PGA China Tour
2nd round at the Chongqing Kingrun Open, PGA Tour China I have shot a score of 72 (Ev) to be one under for the tournament making the cut. The forecast for today was 100% rain until we completed our round and it certainly lived up to expectations. Early on it was touch and go for greens going underwater but it was just the perfect amount of rain not to flood.
With a bogey down the 1st I was able to come back with 2 birdies on 3 and 4 before another at the par 5 8th. Good section of golf. On 9 I had some cross bunkers to carry at 240m but with a bad swing I hit a low hook plugging into the bunker grass. From there I hit the ball green side in a bunker and skulled the ball over the green making up and down. Super pleased to walk away with a bogey.
11th I hit an 8iron to 4ft on the par 3 and was unable to knock the ball in the cup. A chain reaction set off as I had 3 shots worse then normal through 12, 13 & 14. Bogey, par (par 5) & bogey. The rest of the holes I hit the greens in reg at varying distances making the closes one on the par 5 18th.
With the weather the way it was, I was pleased with the round as today could have been a round that got away from me. Some areas to improve heading into the weekend.
