1st round Swing Thought Tour – Harbor Hills
After the 1st round of the Swing Thought Tour, Harbor Hills I had a score of 71 (-1) to be T44th.
On the front nine I did not capitalize on my close approaches through the 1st 4 holes but managed to hit a par 5 under regulation to move to 1 under. Soft bogey at the par 3 5th from the front edge of the green stumped momentum before some more easy holes where again I was unable to make any putts only to finish on the 9th with a bogey from the middle of the fairway to turn one over.
Back nine was a little different as birdies started to flow with 4 in total along with 2 bogeys for 2 under the back nine.
The condition of the putting surfaces are difficult to judge. The course has struggled through the winter and makes it hard to hit that perfect line knowing the putt may bounce away. Although all the same for everyone. Not a bad start to the week but I will be needing a low one sometime over the next 3 days to make up ground.
Tomorrow’s tee time is 1.40pm. Looking forward to the start of the 1st round of the Masters. My tip for the win is Cameron Smith and Brendon Grace but I don’t mind if Jason Day keeps his form going. Go the Aussies!!!
