Western Australian Open Round 2
After the 2nd round of the Western Australian Open I have shot a score of 69 (-3) to be T20th hitting 13 greens 29 putts.
With the hot whether conditions forecast for the day water was pumped into the greens over night and were considerably soft at least compared to yesterday afternoon. No wind got up till 3pm with temps hitting 31 to my knowledge.
Starting on the 1st My tee shot was in okay down the right before I hit too much of a cut into the bunker plugging making a bogey from 7m. Hitting 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 from 3m, 1foot, 6m, 3m, 8m, 3m, 7m, 4m, 8m and 9m I made birdies at 3 and 11. At the 14th and 15th I missed the green with PW on the par 3 and 52 degrees making up and down. Another big save at the next also kept momentum on a strong par 3.
16th is a drivable par 4 with no wind and I hit it into the 2nd green Side Bunker having a great angle to the back left flag splashing it out to a foot almost holing it for eagle. Par 5 17 I slotted driver over the left trap to have 188m to a hanging right flag. Not much green to work with hitting one of the best flights I have ever hit to 3m pin high agonizingly missing the eagle chance. At my last hole I tried hard to attack the green from the tee box squeezing one right to be 65m out pitching the ball to 5m missing the opportunity there.
Pleased to have finished strong again and I am looking forward to the weekend.
