After round 1 of the Australian Masters I have shot a score of 75 (+5) to be T101

With hot blustery conditions it was a tough afternoon. Starting on the 10th I was to play what I believed the harder side 1st. After nutting a drive down the middle, I hit 4 iron in for my next, missing the green and not making up and down. Solid save at 11 and a great chance for birdie at 12 leaving the ball a roll short in the heart. These 1st 3 holes on the back nine were difficult so to be one over, I was in a good position with 4 easy holes to come.

At the short par 4 13th, I hit my approach 7m under the hole almost holing out (with the ball close to spinning off the green). I managed to 3 putt that hole and missed the fairway at the next to stuff up the easy stretch.

On the par 3 15th, I hit the ball over the green, making a fantastic up and down. Although it is the 16th hole where I got unlucky with my approach. Catching the lip of the bunker, my ball rolled 30m to the downslope of the back of the bunker, where I was going to struggle to hit my ball on the green. Knifing it through the green missing the crowd I stopped short of the Out Of Bounds. Chip and 2 putts for a double.

Solid up and down at 17 and missing the fairway at 18 I had to chip out still making a par holing a 5m putt.

The next nine I hit every green in regulation to miss them all, even having a 3 putt at 8 my only bogey on that side. Unfortunately I had no birdies to off-set these bad holes.

Morning start tomorrow so a nice red number will move me in the right direction to make the cut with the afternoon expecting to be tough again. ‪#‎ausmasters15‬
