Waratah Pro-Am
After the Waratah Pro-Am I have shot a score of 71 (Ev) to finish T23rd. I was unable to defend my title this year. During the course of the afternoon the winds gradually rose.
Starting on the 10th I hit 3 greens in a row and 2 were par 5’s to be 1 over through 3, 3 putting the 12th. Back to back bogies came at 13. On the two par 3’s I made par at 14 before I made an up and down par at 15. Finally made a birdie the hard way at 16 on the par 5 before giving it back with a 3 putt bogey at 17 rounding out the 9 holes with a monster birdie putt at 18.
Back to back birdies were made starting the next nine before momentum was halted at the 2nd making yet another bogey on a par 5 450m long, certainly hurt. Par at 3 and 4 before I rolled in another monster putt from off the back edge for birdie on 5. But it was a par, birdie, par and bogey finish to round out the day.
Certainly a mixed bag. 13 greens 31 putts. The course played really easy and it was disappointing not to shoot under par even though I was 2 over early after 4 holes. Last Pro Am tomorrow at Everglades before WA Open starts on Thursday next week. Working out the game. Teeing off at 12.30pm.
