Shelly Beach Pro Am
After the Shelly Beach Pro Am I have shot a score of 67 (-4) to place 2nd hitting 14 greens and 29 putts.
The greens were spectacular and I have never played on green surfaces that rolled (ball hugging the surface) as well as they did.
Started on the 5th with a birdie rolling in a 3m putt. Hitting it close on 6 = 4m, 7 = 3m and 9 = 4m I missed all birdie chances there but in turn made great par saves at 8 and 10. As I continued on hit hit green the next 6 greens in regulation holing a birdie putt from 7m at 12, 3 putting 14 and making a 2 putt birdie at 14 to bounce back from the previous hole bogey. On the 16th after I hit the fairway with my 2 iron on the 300m par 4 I missed the green short right in a bunker and hit a great bunker shot to 2.5m missing the par putt.
Next up was 2 par 5’s in a row. Hitting two great shots to get to 10m short left I pitched my ball to 6m past the pin and holed a nice bounce back birdie in front of the crowd. Another two solid shots on the next to be 10m short of 1 into the wind I chipped in for eagle to go 4 under for the day. Big drive down 2 and 52 degree wedge to 1m I went to 5 under. At 3 my driver hit the fairway and had 106m in hitting PW to 6m walking away with a 3 putt bogey before making an up and down par at the 4th par 3.
So pleased to have my 2nd eagle this financial year and my 2nd chip-in in a row.
This also marks my 5th top ten finish in a row on the Ladbrokes Australian Pro Am Series with positions T9th, T9th, T7th, T5th, and 2nd. Next event is Kooindah Waters which commences on Thursday.
