Round 3 Spalding Park
After the 3rd round of the Spalding Park Open I have shot a score of 75 (+3) to be 1 over total placing T21st.
By the 3rd day the putting surfaces became very fast with such a smooth surface. (World class greens) I knew early I would have needed to make a small charge on the front nine but the putter showed early it just wanted to give me lip.
Being 2 over through 4 holes I went birdie, birdie on 5 and 6. A drive down the left of 8 ran into a small shrub where the trouble began having to take an unplayable and getting into trouble on the next shot, walking away with a triple. 2 putt birdie at 9 I turned 2 over.
To many errors continued to show on the back nine making bogey on 11 and 14. Only birdie came at 13 with a close approach with a wedge on the hardest rated hole.
Overall a mixed bag for the Perth trip with many lessons learnt. Sometimes you have to play bad to know what you have to work on for the future. Can now come up with a plan to change things on the next trip which is the 1st week of the China Tour.
Big thanks to Hyundai, Genesis. I had an amazing time driving the car to each event. It really is a smooth and sensational ride. A great luxury car. Could not have done the trip without you. Thanks again for a fantastic 9 years!
To my hosts – you know who you are. Same to you for looking after me and allowing me into your home. See you at the Western Australian Open at the end of the year.
