Round 3 Nanjing Zhongshan Open – PGA Tour China

r3 nanjing open

After the 3rd round of the Nanjing Zhongshan Open, PGA Tour China I have shot a score of 73 (+1) to be Even total and T46th.

Teeing off the 10th a slightly missed drive left me in the thick rough just above a bunker where I could only hit my 2nd shot 20m short of the green. My chip shot went to the back edge on the angle I was on where I 2 putted for a bogey but bounced back with a birdie under regulation on the par 5.

The next 2 holes I pared and I was the faced with another easy par 5. I had another chip and again on the angle I was I hit it to the back edge to walk away with par but again the next hole I followed up my woes with a birdie at the short par 4 15th.

I gave myself opportunities on the next 4 holes for birdies making pars but my best opportunity was at the 1st inside 3m. This is where I felt I had lost my momentum during the day. The 2nd is a short par 5 and not making the putt on the 1st rolling into the par 5 missing that birdie after being green side was a dagger to the heart. But wait there’s more! I followed this slip with another missed putt from 4ft for bogey from a missed green. Felt as though I had dropped 3 shots in a row. At least if one was to drop there may have been a smile brought to my face!

Feeling lost and down in the dumps I made a great save for par at 4. Hesitation on how hard to hit a 9 iron from the fairway at the 6th l missed the green short in a spot you can’t miss where that flag was making bogey as I missed another short putt. I rallied for birdie at the next hole, par 5 2 putting helping to steady the ship but that was given back with a wayward drive on the last making bogey (probably due to putter issues) missing another short range putt.

The putter going south mid round hurt all confidence. This has been my golf game for at least the past 8 months and I am close to breaking point. The putter goes walk abouts for at least 1 round in a 4 round event and I never have a decent day out either. Just not sure how much my patience can last. None the less another round tomorrow and another crack to go low. Come on!!!
