Round 2 Wanda Open – PGA Tour China
After round 2 of the Wanda Open, PGA Tour China I have shot a score of 75 (+3) to be 3 over total and T44th making the cut.
Starting on the back nine it was a tough front nine to start with being 4 over through 4. On the 12th I went against my gut feeling to miss the fairway making bogey not getting up and down as well. I again had another gut feeling I went against on the 13th where I hit driver in the bushes. Both times I felt 4 wood was the play. Just annoyed with myself to attack so early. Serves me right.
From the bushes on 13 I advance it 2 foot as I could not take an unplayable. From there I did take an unplayable and made a double bogey continuing on to 3 putt the next for bogey.
It was not long till another bogey followed and I was on the cut mark just like that. I grinned away and new the front nine I could make up some ground.
On the 1st I made an unlikely putt over and down a ridge for birdie to get back to 4 over for the tournament before paring 3 in a row following those pars with another birdie under regulation on a par 5.
Close approach from the tee shot at the 7th another birdie was made to be 3 under this side and to get back to 2 over for the day. Taking driver on 9 the par 5 I had a chance with a excellent drive to make birdie but I missed the fairway. The 2nd shot I hit a knife into the trees to then hit a 4 iron into the green side trap again knifing the ball over the green, chipping and making a 15ft putt for bogey. What a day! Disappointed as this course suits my game but I am looking forward to playing the 3rd round teeing off at 9.10am.
