Round 1 Yamba Pro-Am

After the 1st round of the Yamba Pro-Am I have finished with a score of 72 (Ev) to be place T15th. The day was over cast with mid winds from the south. Rain threatened.

Starting on the 4th hole I made a bogey straight up. I then went on a green in regulation streak hitting 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 only made one birdie at the hardest hole on the course the 11th tapping in from 2ft. Made up and down on 9 from the front of the green. With 3 par 5’s in that run it was disappointing not to birdie one or more of those.

A super par came at 15 after hitting the drive in the hazard right. Hitting nine iron in over the trees I rolled a 2m putt in for the par save backing that up with a birdie on 16 to go one under. Hitting 17, 18 and the 1st greens in regulation I sank no one putts but in fact quite the opposite a 3 putt on the 1st making bogey. Shooting 1 over on the 5 par 5’s for the day just not fun.

But that’s not all, after a tee shot in play at the 2nd I my 2nd pitch shot had one bounce smashing into the flag and the ball rolled off the green with the back spin it had. Missing the last 2 greens I made up and down to have even.

13 greens 30 putts. Teeing off for the 2nd round at 12noon.
