Round 1 Nanjing Zhongshan Open – PGA Tour China
After the 1st Round of the Nanjing Zhongshan Open, PGA Tour China I have shot a score of 73 (+1) to be T70th.
Starting on the 10th hole I was 1 under through 2 holes before I doubled the 18th hitting the ball into the right trees. Finding my ball in a shrub I had no shot for my 2nd and could not even take an unplayable. Playing a shot from the shrub the ball came up 2m short of being back in play ending up in another shrub. I could and did take the 2 club length unplayable rule from this position.
After taking the unplayable drop even then I was somewhat blocked out from the green. My 4th shot hit a branch and came up 60m short of the green where I pitched it to 12ft holing the putt to save the double.
Bouncing back 2 holes later with a birdie on the par 5 2nd I was heading back towards red figures. Chip in from over the back of the 5th green for birdie was an added bonus but a poor finish derailed a solid days work.
After a drive down the middle on the par 5 7th where I had an easy chance to get home for two I missed the green left where the ball ended in a wash-a-way line. At the next a plug ball on the par 3 making 2 bogeys in a row to finish with a par up the last.
Teeing off at 12noon for the 2nd round. I feel a low one coming tomorrow.
