Oates Victorian Open Round 1
After the 1st round of the Oates Victorian Open I have shot a score of 75 (+3) on the Beach Course to be T117th.
The weather man got the forecast wrong today. Predicted was mid 30’s temp and early hot northerly winds 25km/h. With this forecast the greens were kept to a good length to offset balls rolling.
The southerly light change came through at the 1st tee shot, 5 hours earlier than predicted. My 1st error of the day came on my 5th hole where I missed it long left short side making bogey but bounced back at the next with a birdie driving the par 4 in 1.
My biggest upset came after 2 great par saves on my 7th and 8th hole before hitting 18 under regulation and 3 putting for par to then hit a poor drive left on the 1st taking an unplayable bogey. 2 more bogey followed late on my 15th and 16th hole to go to 3 over total.
I felt like my game from tee to green was fantastic and felt great pumping a lot a drivers down the middle and can only take positives away before I venture to the easier course tomorrow. Teeing off at 1.10pm on the Creek Course. #fticonsulting #srixon #manlygolfclub #tillengron #golf#oatesvicopen #golfvictoria #golfaustralia #pgaaus #13thbeach@pgaofaustralia @pgatouraus
