Nexus Risk TSA WA Open Round 3
After the 3rd round of the TSA Risk Nexus Western Australian Open I have shot a score of 67 (-5) To be T7th. Cooler conditions today with more wind than the 1st 2 rounds.
Starting on the 9th I got off to a hot start with an eagle up the 1st hole followed by an up and down par save at 10. Greens in regulation for the next 4 holes making a 3 putt bogey at 12, no birdies. I missed 16 and 17 greens making up and down for par. At the 18th an out of play hole I managed to make a par on the par 5 after hitting my 2nd into a trap trying to lay up.
Making the turn with 8 holes to play through the next 3 I went eagle, birdie, birdie. On the 1st hole I holed a 71m wedge shot for my 2nd eagle of the day. A 2 on a par 4! Never looked like missing after it checked and started rolling back to the hole. Chipped in at the par 3 2nd from 12m for another 2 and holed a 5m putt at the par 5 3rd for birdie! An unbelievable section of golf.
Missing the 4th over the back for my 2nd I holed and 8m par putt on the return. Solid par at 5 before another missed green at 6 making an up and down holing a 5m putt. Another 5m putt went in for birdie at the par 5 7th before making bogey up the last not judging the wind into me as it picked up while I was over the ball. Not making up and down either. None the less 9 putts for the front nine. How good!
10 greens and 24 putts. Nice to see the hard work paying off with the putter. In with a chance for a win tomorrow.
