Morisset Pro Am Round 1
After the 1st round of the Morisset Pro-Am I have shot a score of 73 (+1) to be T19th. Teeing off in the morning field rain was forecasted but not a drop fell until the last hole. Very still day. Love the course conditions and thought the greens were in great and true shape
Teeing off the 10th I started with a bogey. I then hit 3 greens in a row making a birdie at the 13th. A momentous save at 14 was the par save of the day being out of play with a 2 iron off the tee but it was a bogey to strike again on the 17th due to another 2iron error off the tee. Usually a reliable and faithful play.
Turning one over par I quickly picked up 3 birdies in a row before momentum was halted by a pin sheet error on the 14th. Believing it was 10m on coming out of the rough on a down slope my plan was to go past the flag but it ended up over the back with a flag at the back. This turned into another miss green at the long down hill par 3 5th.
Up and down back nine for me as I made another birdie at 6 before giving it back at 7 the par 3 short sighting myself. Took me till the 8th hole to have my 1st par on this nine. This was compounded by a 3 putt bogey at the last.
Hit the ball great, 12 greens and 32 putts. Felt I hit great putts but just was not my day with the putter. Could not keep the momentum going and found myself missing plenty of par putt opportunities when I missed a green in regulation. Teeing off today for the 2nd round at 12.30pm. Low number for a good result.
