Morisset Pro Am Round 1

After the 1st round of the Morisset Pro Am I have shot a score of 70 (-2) to be T5th hitting 14 greens 30 putts.

It was meant to be playing at 7am but the day turned into pros only and we all teed off at 12.30pm. When we got out there if one more shower was to dump 2mins of light rain the day would have been cancelled but we got blessed and the day was completed.

Starting on the 4th the wind was up and blowing at 20 to 30km/h. Good feeling to crack a drive down the middle and make a solid par at the 1st hole of the day. The next 3 holes I made 3 good up and downs to move to 1 red for the day birding 6 a par 5. Hitting the next 4 greens another birdie was made from an up and down on yet another par 5 the 11th.

Splitting the fairway in two on 12 I airmailed the green with no wind touching my ball in flight making a great save. Greens in reg came at the next 5 holes 3 putting 13 and 14 making bogey and only 1 birdie at 17 holing a 1.5m putt. Another up and down par at 18 before a birdie was made to get back to 2 under at the 1st finishing with 2 green in reg pars.

I found the day difficult with how heavy the ground was with all the lying water and gusty wind conditions but hung in to be in a contending position going into the last day tomorrow, 4 back.
