Magenta Shores Pro Am Round 2
After the 2nd round of the Magenta Shores Pro-Am I have shot a score of 71 (-1) to be 1 under total coming T1st. Only player under par in the 2nd round. It was a perfect day with the weather. Blue skies and light breezes all day.
Starting on the par 3 15th my PW came up short just off the green making par. Greens in regulation flowed from 16 to the 1st. Missed a short range putt at 18 for birdie but made birdie from 3m at the 1st. The 2nd to the 4th are very tough holes at Magenta and I played them in even, all pars only missing one green through that stretch which was the 2nd.
Short par 4 the 5th I got myself into trouble off the tee hitting the ball in the fairway bunker left. 52 degree wedge sailed into the 2nd bunker on the right and made a magnificent save for par from 4m to keep the momentum rolling.
Solid play with greens in reg for the next 5 holes. One birdie at 7 holing a 3m putt down the hill. Two in a row was on the cards after pitching a 67m shot on 8 to 2 feet surprisingly missing the putt.
On the 11th I hit a great 2 iron that caught the deep fairway bunker making my only bogey of the day. Missing the last 3 greens in reg I made enormous saves to hang in to win the event. The last putt was from a metre which was nice.
11 greens 28 putts. Love the layout of Magenta Shores. A true test of golf. My speed control on the greens was great and got my ball striking back to a decent level. Day off tomorrow before another 2 day Pro-Am at Morisset Saturday and Sunday.
