Lane Cove Pro-Am

After the Lane Cove Pro-Am I have shot a score of 64 (Ev) to finish T6th. The weather was perfect in the morning. Sun was out and the birds were chirping. No wind to speak of.

Lately I have notice I have not been starting well and after being 2 over through 6 holes today the trend continued. Best part is trends only last for a short time so looking forward to what is around the corner. With bogies a the 1st, 3rd and 5th my only birdie on the front nine came at the 2nd.

After hitting the ball better as the morning went on I started to feel the shift in the game heading into the back nine. Lane Cove is a 9 hole golf course and during the pro-am we play the nine holes twice to complete the 18 required holes.

The 1st and the 10th are the hardest holes on the course so a par can be very positive to start the both nines and that is just what I did on the 200m par 3. Making up and down from 50m for my 2nd after hitting the big gym tree that shields the front of the green.

Paring the next 3 holes as well I rolled in my 1st birdie of the back nine at the 14th after driving the green long making a solid up and down. A good 2 putt par cemented the previous hole birdie before making another birdie at 16 after being greenside for one on another short par 4.

Little slip up from just off the fairway at 17 was surprising since I love my wedge shots leaving the the fat shot short not making up and down but 3rd drive greenside for one at the last I chipped the ball to 2 feet almost holing out for eagle to finish out the round.

Overall it was a very fun day on a short and challenging course. No better way to also treat yourself with some homemade sweets too from the lady members of the club when you finish a hard days work at the office.
