John Hughes – Hyundai Western Australia Trip.
This weeks event is the Western Australian Open where I arrived this morning at 2am Perth local time after again some safety issues delaying the flight. After a wonderful sleep in I made my way to the city to visit Guy Gambin at John Hughes, Hyundai.
Over the last 8 years (2 years when I was an amateur and 6 as a professional) I have been coming to Perth for golf events where John Hughes has always kindly offered me a Hyundai Car so I am able to travel to my events in comfort and style. I can now say John Hughes is my longest sponsor relationship and again this year has given his full support for my 2 weeks of events. I would like to thank him and his wonderful team for all they have done for golf in this part of the world including myself.
Once I had the car I was able to travel to The Western Australian Golf Club where the WA Open is being held. The last few days has been wet and windy and again today the forecast was to be the same. Managed to play the course while dogging the rain clouds completing the full practice round. The Western Australian Golf Club is in great shape for the week and I am sure the greens will be lighting fast as the tournament nears Sunday. With another day of preparation tomorrow on the game before Thursday’s 1st round tee time of 8am where I will be prepared and ready to blast one down the middle!
