Isuzu Queensland Open Round 4
After the 4th round of the Isusu Queensland Open I have shot a score of 74 (+3) to be 14 over total and coming 61st. It was the hottest day of all 4 rounds and the waters were going down the hatch like I never seen before.
Teeing off the back nine made a casual par up the 1st hole before making an outstanding par at 11. It was disappointing to not get the hole in one prize of $125,000. No hole in one’s at all for the week from the field. Hitting greens at 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 I made one birdie on 14 and bogeyed the 13th from a bad tee shot. From just off the back fringe on 18 I did not make up and down but bounced back at the 1st.
With 8 holes to go I only hit 2 greens in regulation as the wind started to pick up. Making a lot of bogies coming home.
9 greens for 30 putts. Missed a lot of greens this week and was not able to save many pars to keep the momentum rolling at times. Few mental mistakes as well. Overall I am pleased to make the cut and thankful for the invite from Golf Queensland. It was great to see some old faces around the club. Have not been back to Brisbane Golf Club since I won the Club Championships in 2008. I heard this year the Brisbane Pennant team took out Division 1 as well. Well done to the club. It is really going from strength to strength. Great event and well done to Michael Sim winning from the harder side of the draw. Great effort and a well deserved winner.
Next event start tomorrow at Kooindah Waters playing over two days before another 2 day event at Magenta Shores. 8 rounds of golf in a row. Looking for a positive start.
