Beijing Open Practice Round
The Tuesday practice round went well getting a full round in with little sleep from traveling. Another trip that went longer with delays than expected.
The golf course is a real treat this week. The greens are rolling 10.5 already and so true. Even as the day went on little spike marks were nonexistent. There is suppose to be storms come Thursday that may change the surface for the tournament. Hope they hold out.
Certainly the back nine is the harder nine this week being tighter, longer and slightly smaller greens than the front. Also with the 15th playing as a par 4 instead of a par 5. This puts a tough stretch of holes together from 12 to 17 with 16 being the easiest of that stretch before the gettable par 5 18th, hitting 8iron in there today.
I felt most of the day the strong par 4’s were made stronger with the 2nd shot due to driver running out of room and having to use my 4 wood. Just going to have to feel comfortable hitting crisp long irons into these particular holes. (1, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12 & 14)
The 3 par 5’s are gettable this week for 2. The 3rd I hit in a 3iron and the 9th a 6iron, breeze helping on 9. Overall looking forward to a great week as the accommodation, gym and practice facilities are excellent and the game is coming along nicely. Thanks for everyone’s support to date, especially of recent the kind generosity of family, friends, fans and anonymous donators getting me back to China this week. Special thanks to BODIE’z Protein Water, Srixon, Tillengron, Manly Golf Club and it’s board and members for there support as well.
