Australian PGA Championships Pre Qualifying

After the Pre Qualifying for the Australian PGA Championship I have shot a score of 72 (Ev) to miss qualifying by approximately 3 or 4 shots. Playing out at the Keppera Golf Club today. I teed off at 7.20am to a windless, sunny day.

I made birdie down the par 5 1st before making double bogey at 2nd with a leaked 2 iron off the tee right. With a hill in front of me to get over and trees on top I had to judge an 8iron flight through a 10m gap. The ball popped out higher than expected and rocketed off a branch straight right into the hazard although I was very lucky to find my ball metres away, outside of the hazard. Punched a 7 iron out that went a tad far. Past the end he of the green not making up and down missing a 4 metre putt.

Hitting 3, 4 and 5 greens I sunk a birdie putt at the 5th from 3 metres. Easy up and down at 6 before a well played hole making birdie at 7 holing a 3 metre putt again.

A 130m par 3 was to follow hitting an 8 iron in the hazard on the right not making up and down for my 2nd double of the day. Ended with a par to finish the front nine at 1 over.

Hitting 5 greens on the back nine I made 4 up and downs keeping the blemishes off the card with one birdie coming at the 13th holing a 5 metre putt.

10 greens 26 putts. Still a solid performance even though I was unable to qualify. I am driving back home to Sydney tonight before teeing it up on Wednesday at the Chatswood Pro-Am. With only a handful of Pro Ams to come for the season and 3 this week on the Northern Beaches, I am seeking to retain or improve my current position on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series Order of Merit. Currently coming 19th with top 20 gaining a category on the 2018 Australiasia PGA Tour.

If you have a day off come out and see me and the pros play this week. Would be nice to have some support to finish off the year. Thanks for the well wishes this week.

29th Nov – Chatswood
30th Nov – Asquith
1st Dec – Elanora
