Albury Pro Am

After the Albury Pro Am I have shot a score of 66 (-4) coming T2nd hitting 9 greens and 21 putts.

Pure weather and the greens were running handsomely smooth and quick.

Starting on the 5th hole I birdied my 1st 2 holes hitting PW to a foot and holing a sliding down hill 9m right to left putt. Missing the next 3 greens I made up and down before knocking it to 1.5m on 10 to go to 3 under.

Missing the tee shot right I had a bad kick into the trees pitching it out to 85m on the 13th. Clipping the top of the trees the ball dropped 30m out and pitched it to 2m missing the slippery putt to drop a shot but bounced back 2 holes later at 13 making up and down from the front edge then made par at the next.

A 3iron was of choice at 15 coming up just shy of the green on the 210m par 3 pimple green. I unfortunately bladed a perfect lie through the green and my next flop shot ended up back where I started and made up and down for a double bogey. Pleased though I bounced back at 16 with a birdie. I ended up paring the next 2 holes before back to back par 5’s where I made birdies to get to 4 under to then par the last 2 with scrambling saves.

Stoked with my putting performance but I also hit the ball pretty well. I felt as though my greens in reg were higher but most times I was just off the edge with putter in hand. Big thanks to the crew at the Gary Edwin Golf Academy, Peter Krawitz for helping me grind through with the putter and swing. Always love playing Albury and the courses on the Murray. Next event is a two day event which starts tomorrow the Greater Shepperton Masters.

By the way there is now live scoring in the Pro Ams so download the PGA Aus app and watch your favorite players as they go hole by hole.
