3rd Round Western Australian Open

After the 3rd round of the Western Australian Open I have shot a score of 69 (-1) to be 1 over total and T52nd.

The weather was much better today with only a slight breeze all day. Wind also switched to the other direction making the course easier as it made the par 5’s play down wind of which I birdied all 3.

Paring the 1st 7 holes a missed fairway down 17 in thick rough just off the side of the fairway. Sometimes it is better to be 5 to 10m off the fairway as the rough disappears the more the sun rays can’t find the ground. Hacked it out to 10m short of the green missing the up and down making bogey.

18 was an easy birdie but I made it difficult hitting it into the fairway bunker. The 2nd shot hit the face and ran out another 100m to then hit my 3rd to 6ft rolling the ball in with the putt. As I moved onto the front side my playing partner David Andrews hits his shot on the par 3 to a 6 inches as I hit it on the wrong side of the tier making a 3 putt bogey. Paring all the way to the 6th hole, David then makes a hole in one on 5th with a nine iron! Brilliant!!!

Birdies on 6 and 8 on the two par 5’s with short side up and downs helped the days scoring. Final round tee time is 9.40am.
