2nd Round Putian Open – PGA Tour China
After the 2nd round of the Putian Open I have shot a score of 77 (+5) to be even par total and T2nd.
With the wind up early I knew it was going to be a tough day. Starting on the back nine today I bogeyed the 11th but was unable to reach the green for my 2nd. Standing on 14 after 2 pars in a row I hit a poor shot into the trees on the right having to chip out making bogey. This started a leak on the scoreboard. 15 my ball spun from just off the green into the hazard with Pw. Playing from the hazard I chipped it onto the green to 10m making my bogey 2 putt.
The par 5 16th a poor shot right again leaked into the hazard where I made a double bogey before hitting the green at 17 to 3 putt from 40ft. Another 3 putt bogey came at 2 bouncing back at 3 and 4 for birdie. 3 was 4m putt and 4 was a tap in nearly holing out for eagle with a wedge in hand. Again my 3rd bad shot of the day came at 5. Weak driver into the wind leaked right OOB before bouncing back at 6 and 7 with birdies. 6 I had an eagle chance driving the ball to 5m away on the green and 7 a punch low 5iron into the wind to less than a metre (Shot of my career) 2 pars to finish the round.
As much as I am disappointed with my round today I played myself back into it on my last nine holes so I have a chance over the weekend for the W. Keep the head on, stay patient and stick to my drills and game plan. 👍🏼👊🏼
