2nd Round Henan Open – PGA Tour China
After round 2 of the Henan Open PGA Tour China I have shot 75 (+3) to be 4 over total and sitting T34th making the cut.
The course has been brutal over the past two days. I have been playing great golf but have not had many putts fall in my favor as usual. Narrowly missing fairways the ball will lay down in the rough which just makes it overly difficult to stop the ball on the greens. Flyers coming into play. Once you do hit the greens the putts are difficult to judge from the distance long distance I am hitting from the flag, tackling the big slopes this course has too. Easier to make 12ft putts on the right tier than 30ft for birdie from the wrong tier.
None the less I hung in for 33 holes hovering just outside the top ten all day but unfortunately just like yesterday I had a bad finish to my round. 3 bogies in a row moved myself 20 spots backwards. In the 1st round I even had 2 over in my last 4 holes.
The one thing I do like about when playing a tough course is if you go low you can move plenty of places up the leaderboard. With rain forecast for the 3rd round tomorrow great opportunity to do this on moving day.
