1st Stage Farmers Insurance Open

After the 1st stage of the Pre Qualifying for the Farmers Insurance Open I have shot 68 (-4) to come T3rd!!! 13 greens 27 putts. Sunk a 4m birdie putt on the last to squeeze through. Perfect weather conditions and the greens were rolling pure with some firmness to them.

Starting of the 10th I hit the 1st 4 greens in a row sinking birdies on holes 12 and 13 from 1m and 4m. The 12th hole shot on the par 3 almost disappeared to the hardest flag position all day. Missing greens at 14, 15 and 16 I made the one easy bogey on 16. Only bogey for the day. Was 80m out leaving it short and missing a 2m putt. Solid greens in regulation to finish out the 9 holes at one under.

Heading into the final nine holes I was looking to make an early birdie but I missed greens at 1 and 2 holing some crucial par putts from 2.5m and 6m. I then went on a green in regulation hunt hitting the rest of the greens.

3 I had a 2.5m up hill right to left missing low.

4 I had a up and over the hill putt that never looked like going in from 12m and fell on the death.

5 I read to much into the putt right to left but had good pace.

6 I was 5m and hit the best putt I hit all day line tracking and waved across the face to the right at the death.

7 played an awesome 7iron on the par 3 to a front pin making birdie from 2.5m.

8 was a solid par 2 putt having 12m for birdie.

Going down the last I felt kinda safe with the previous days scores getting in at -2 and -3. It was a par 5 and after hitting the fairway I had 7iron left from 180m. Could not have hit a tighter line from off the tee and been in a better position. Missing the green left in a good spot I chipped the ball to 4m and holed the right to left swinging birdie putt to make it in by one with top 4 plus ties making it through. Wow what a thrill of a day.
