Buick Open Pro-Am

Pro-Am day at the Buick Open PGA Tour China. It rained fairly hard on Tuesday so I elected to take the day off knowing I was playing today. Winter has certainly arrived with brisk, chilly winds coming from the north. The cold is here to stay this week and will certainly play a part in this weeks event with temps of 9 to 15 maximum.

Another tough golf course ahead. This will be 3 weeks in a row to finish off the China Tour. The course from the tee plays very soft with no run what so ever but the greens are rolling very true. Lot of longer iron shots into the greens. There is some server slopes in the greens and the speed of the roll is tethering on balls rolling especially if the wind does get up like it is going to do this week. A certain few holes will struggle to find 4 different pin locations on the greens. Key this week to leave the ball below the hole where you can.

1 out of 4 par 5’s are reachable which is the 14th but plays very tight from the tee to fairway and only one possible drive-able par 4 if the wind blows the right way which is number 8. This week will be an interesting week ahead with plenty of the professionals chatting about the course and the difficulties it could show. Certainly a week where you need to keep your head on and be patient with your game plan. Teeing off in the 1st round at 11.10am.
